Jeremy Woolley

Associate Professor Jeremy Woolley is the director of the Centre for Automotive Safety Research based at the University of Adelaide in South Australia. He has over 20 years’ experience in road safety research and leads a team of talented and dedicated researchers to better understand how harm from use of the road transport system can be minimized and ultimately eliminated. The multidisciplinary centre has 23 staff with backgrounds in mechanical and civil engineering, psychology, statistics, physics, health sciences and education. Core activities include in-depth crash investigation, crash testing and mass crash and injury data analysis.

Jeremy has spent much of his career focusing on knowledge transfer activities and capacity building to better manage road safety in the public and private sector. Together with Dr John Crozier from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, he co-chaired an inquiry into the National Road Safety Strategy with the final report delivered to parliamentarians in Canberra in September 2018.
