Joseph Cote

Joseph Cote began his career with the Government of Alberta in 2009 as a Highway Patrol Officer with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Branch. In 2015, he became Sergeant of the Grande Prairie district, responsible for promoting highway safety of an area approximately 40,000 square kilometers which includes some of Alberta’s most active natural resource industries. He has been actively engaged in the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program at Lethbridge College and provided instruction in transportation legislation to new officers and industry partners. 

Joseph has a passion for transportation safety and a dedication towards ensuring the commercial motor transport industry in Alberta is among the strongest and safest in Canada. In 2017 he joined the Carrier Services Section of Alberta Transportation and began his current role as the Manager of Investigations in February 2018. Currently, Joseph and his team monitor the safety and compliance of 25,000 commercial truck and bus carriers based in Alberta through collaboration with law enforcement agencies and industry partners.
